What is a cookie?
A cookie is a data file that a website places on your IT equipment (e.g. a computer, tablet or smartphone). The purpose is to recognize the IT equipment in order to monitor how you engage with the website.
A cookie is a passive file that cannot collect the information found on your computer or spread viruses or other kinds of malware.
Some cookies, the so-called session cookies, are only stored on your IT equipment for as long as you keep your browser open. Others are stored on your equipment for a longer duration, these are called persistent cookies. When you return to a website, the cookie is then typically renewed automatically.
Often, cookies from other parties than the owner of the website are placed (third party cookies). It can be cookies with ordinary content, but it can also be analytical tools and embedded comment fields.

First party cookies
As a first party, Nordiccell.com places four different kinds of session cookies which will be terminated when you close your browser. They are meant to:

- Identify your http-requests as you navigate nordiccell.com
As a first party, we also place four kinds of persistent cookies which are stored between 30 days and two years. They register:
- How many times you have visited the website
- How much time you have spent on the website
- Whether you reach the website through a search engine, a link or a keyword
- Whether you are a new or a returning user of the website
Third party cookies
In addition, addthis.com places third party cookies at nordiccell.com. Addthis.com places two session cookies and two persistent cookies that make it possible to recognize your IT equipment and register how often you visit the website. The two session cookies are deleted when you close the browser. The two persistent cookies are deleted after two years. On the website, Nordiccell.com uses Google Analytics as a statistical tool. Google Analytics enables us to follow a session around the site and allows NordicCell ApS to adapt the content according to its specific relevance for you.
How can you remove or avoid cookies?
It depends on your browser how you delete or avoid placement of cookies in your IT equipment.
All Danish websites are obliged to inform of the cookies they place on the IT equipment of their users. This information must adhere to the ”Executive Order on Information and Consent Required in Case of Storing and Accessing Information in End-User Terminal Equipment” (informally known as the ‘Cookie Order’).
